NAIROBI, Kenya | July 1, 2026 — More than 1,000 entrepreneurs, investors and corporate executives are set to gather at Waterfront Karen on September 11 for the BNI Nairobi South Business & Innovation Expo 2026 — an event its organizers are positioning as a direct response to Kenya’s deteriorating business environment.
The expo, themed “Accelerate, Innovate, Lead,” is organized by BNI Nairobi South, a local chapter of Business Network International, a global referral-based networking organization whose members generated over $21.3 billion in revenue through referrals in 2024 alone, according to BNI Global data.

The timing is deliberate. With Kenya’s private sector grappling with high credit costs, subdued consumer demand and policy uncertainty, organizers say structured business networking is emerging as a lower-cost growth lever for companies unable to rely on traditional market expansion.
“Business growth today is increasingly driven by referrals, collaboration and strategic partnerships. The expo is designed to create an environment where decision-makers can meet, exchange ideas and build relationships that generate real business value — both nationally and regionally,” says Perminus Kariuki, Executive Director, BNI Nairobi South
The daylong event will feature over 40 exhibitors spanning technology, finance, manufacturing, real estate, professional services and trade. The program includes keynote addresses, expert panel discussions, live product demonstrations, business matchmaking sessions and an evening cocktail reception.
A flagship panel discussion will bring together industry leaders to explore how businesses can convert professional relationships into measurable revenue — the central argument BNI has built its global model around.
“The aim is to deliver real business outcomes,” says Antony Njenga, Executive Director, BNI Nairobi South

Njenga added that this year’s program is anchored on three pillars: referral-based business acceleration, innovation for navigating market shifts, and trust-based leadership.
The expo targets a cross-section of the business community — from SMEs and startups to corporates and financial institutions — and is expected to draw participants from across Kenya, with regional representation from East Africa.
BNI Nairobi South is one of several chapters of the global network operating in Kenya, where the organisation has grown steadily despite broader economic headwinds. Whether the September event translates the momentum of its global model into locally measurable outcomes will be closely watched by the business community.
